* Sit straight and lean your head towards back. Look at the ceiling while keeping your lips closed and relaxed. Begin puckering your lips jointly in a kiss and stretch the kiss, as if you are trying to kiss the ceiling. Keep your lips in the same position for 10 counts. Relax and return your head in the same position. Repeat the exercise for 5 times.

Facial Exercises for Eyes

* Sit upright and keep your eyes closed and relaxed during the exercise. Lift your eyebrows, while try to stretch your eyelids down as much as possible. Stay in this position for 5 counts. Relax and repeat the exercise for 5 times.
* Sit upright, keeping your eyes open and looking ahead. Firstly, look up and then down, while keeping your head still. Repeat it for 10 times. Afterwards, start looking left and right in the same manner. Repeat it 10 times.

Facial Exercises for Forehead

* To the maximum possible limit, frown and bring your eyebrows over your eyes while pulling the eyebrows toward each other. After that, lift your eyebrows maximum possible, while opening your eyes as much as possible. Repeat the exercise for 5 times.
* Sit straight facing forward and bring your eyebrows down over your eyes. Wrinkle up your nose as much as possible, while flaring your nostrils. After a count of 10, relax a little. Repeat the exercise for 5 times.

Facial Exercises for Lips

* Sit straight facing forward and pucker your lips together. Lift your puckered lips towards your nose and keep there for 5 counts. Relax and repeat the exercise for 5 times.
* Bring your lips into a puckered kiss. While relaxing the kiss, keep your lips closed and then curl your lips into your mouth across your teeth. Hold the position for 10 counts. Repeat the exercise for 5 times.

Facial Exercises for Cheeks

* Sit straight facing forward, while keeping your lips closed and relaxed. Using the cheek muscles, pucker and pout your lips. Hold the position for 10 counts. Relax and repeat the exercise for 10 times.
* Keeping your lips closed, smile in a relaxed manner. Suck in your cheeks towards and on to your jaws. Hold this position for 10 counts. Relax and repeat the exercise for 10 times.

With improved blood circulation to the face, more oxygen and nutrients are brought to the cells and tissues of the facial muscles and skin. 4. Screwdriver:
Ingredients:
250 ml orange juice,1 tsp lemon rind(chopped),2 tsp lemon juice,1 tsp Tabasco sauce,crushed ice,lemon wedges;
Method:
Rim a tall glass with salt and leave in fridge for one hour.Add crushed ice at the bottom of the glass and pour the orange juice.Add the lemon juice,lemon rind and the Tabasco sauce.Serve with lemon wedges.

Ingredients:
200 ml sweet lime(mosambi) juice,rock salt,pepper powder,crushed ice.
For Garnishing:
3-4 basil leaves.
Method:
Place the crushed ice in the bottom of the glass.Add salt and pepper to the mosambi juice, and pour over the ice.Garnish with basil leaves and serve.

Remove the grapes from the stem. Juice the apple and ginger together, then juice the rest of the fruit. Pour the juice in a large glass and fill to the top with sparkling water and serve with ice.

Method: Mix all the juices together.Add sugar cubes,salt and pepper.Garnish with mint leaves and serve.

Pregnancy Belly Itches

From annoying belly itches to potentially serious body rashes, there is no question that pregnancy can sometimes make your skin crawl.

"Part of the problem is caused by hormones and part is the result of skin stretching, which also causes it to itch," says Marmur.

Among the most common belly itches is PUPPP -- short for pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy. This is a hive-type reaction that commonly begins in the third trimester. It's first noticeable near the belly button, but it can quickly fan out over a wide area, including the thighs, breasts, and buttocks.

While PUPPP isn't dangerous, and it often resolves soon after delivery, it can be incredibly uncomfortable. If you just can't stand the itch, Marmur says prescription-strength steroid creams can definitely help. You can also try dipping a cloth in some warm milk and applying it to the skin, or add a handful of oatmeal to a warm (not hot) bath.

If your rash is itchy and contains fluid-filled blisters, Marmur says talk to your doctor right away. This can be an autoimmune reaction known as pemphigoid gestationis or herpesgestationis. Although not related to the herpes virus, it can increase the risk of premature birth, and it may affect your baby's health as well, so it's vital to seek treatment early on.

Many women also suffer harmless, all-over itchiness during pregnancy. Often all that's needed to soothe the skin is calamine lotion or a good moisturizer. But again, Marmur cautions women to bring any skin irritations to their doctor's attention. In rare instances, she says, itchy skin can be a symptom of a pregnancy-related liver condition known as cholestasis, which may increase the risk of premature labor or cause some fetal distress.
Pregnancy Stretch Marks

From old-fashioned cocoa butter to high-tech skin creams that claim to prevent stretch marks, there is certainly no shortage of products to try.

But today, most doctors believe that those red, blue, purple, and brown stretch marks that divide your belly like the Grand Canyon are largely hereditary, and most topical preparations won't prevent them from occurring.

"If there was something that worked to prevent stretch marks, believe me, we would all know it by now," says Jamal.

But while you might not be able to prevent stretch marks, Palm Beach dermatologist Ken Beer, MD, says in many instances a few laser treatments after baby is born will cause your stretch marks to fade as quickly as your memory of labor pains.

After the baby is born, "Treating stretch marks when they are red or purple can be accomplished with a pulse dye laser," says Beer, author of Palm BeachPerfect Skin. "Once they have turned beige, microdermabrasion, Retin A, Intense Pulsed Light and injections of fillers have varying degrees of success."

If you want to try a topical preparation during pregnancy, Beer suggests glycolic acid creams or those containing green tea as most effective on stretch marks.
Pregnancy, Botox, and Wrinkle Fillers

Finally, in case you're wondering whether or not it's safe to get antiaging wrinkle treatments like Botox or Restylane during pregnancy, it's important to note that there have been no tests to confirm safety.

Says Marmur: "I wouldn't advise a pregnant woman to intentionally have a wrinkle injection or a Botox shot. But many women, including myself, had wrinkle injections and then got pregnant within a couple of months and went on to deliver perfect, healthy babies."

Wet your face and your hands and smooth a dollop of honey around your face as you would any cleanser. You could also mix water straight into the honey in the palm of your hand for easier spreading. Pregnancy Mask and Other Pigment Problems

Among the most frustrating pregnancy skin problems is melasma, also known as chloasma or "pregnancy mask" - patches of dark, pigmented skin that appear on the face.

Pregnancy mask is related to pregnancy hormones and sunlight exposure. The American Academy of Dermatology says women with darker complexions and dark hair are at greatest risk.

But regardless of your complexion, Marmur says, other areas of darker skin can also develop on or around your nipples and between your thighs. "Many women also experience linea nigra or 'line of pregnancy' -- a darkened area of pigmentation that runs down the center of the belly," she says.

While there is no specific treatment for pregnancy pigmentation problems, staying out of the sun can definitely diminish the amount of discoloration you experience, so can wearing a sunscreen anytime you are outdoors.

While the jury is still out on the safety of traditional skin-lightening ingredients such as hydroquinone during pregnancy, Jamal says there are others with an established safety profile you can safely try.

"You can use azelaic acid, which is good for pigment, as well as any topical vitamin C product, which helps suppress pigment naturally," she says.

She also recommends Phytocorrective Gel by Skinceuticals, which she says safely suppresses pigment, as well as the Aveeno soy-based products. "They have a photo-stabilized sunscreen that contains soy and has been shown to lighten pigmented lesions on the skin," says Jamal.

If all else fails, you can safely cover pregnancy mask with a high-pigment concealer or foundation. For best results, choose the color closest to your complexion and resist the urge to go lighter.

"If you select a light shade of concealer, you're not going to get better coverage, plus you're only going to draw attention to the mask by highlighting that area," says Holly Mordini, director of global artistry for Smashbox Cosmetics. Another tip, says Mordini, is to always use a good moisturizer before putting on your concealer. "This will help give better, more even coverage over large areas," she says.

If your mask does not clear after pregnancy, Marmur says a chemical peel "works like magic" to remove all traces.

Even if it's been years since you've seen a zit, don't be surprised if pregnancy brings out a bumper crop, particularly around your mouth and chin.

"These are the most common areas for acne to occur during pregnancy, and if you don't treat it right away, it will continue until you deliver, and sometimes even after baby is born," says Marmur.

Although some over-the-counter preparations can help, dermatologist Sumayah Jamal, MD, PhD, says you must choose wisely.

"You should not use any products that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or any of the retinoids. They are not safe to use during pregnancy," says Jamal, an assistant clinical professor of dermatology and microbiology at NYU Medical Center in New York City.

What you can try, she says, are sulphur-based topical products, as well as those containing glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acids, or any at-home microdermabrasion treatment.

If these don't help, says Jamal, there are topical prescription drugs that offer good results. "These include erythromycin cream and azelaic acid -- both very safe to use during pregnancy."

And while Jamal does not advise using oral antibiotics for acne during pregnancy, Marmur says for patients who don't get results with topical treatments, prescription oral erythromycin is considered safe to use.

"It should not cause a problem, and if your acne is really making you miserable, this can help," she says.

What also works: switching to a foundation for oily skin, or using loose powder mineral makeup. Both have oil-blotting properties and won't irritate skin with acne.

"You can also use a mattifying product underneath your makeup to soak up excess oil, or dab your face with blotting papers during the day to help remove excess oil," says Jamal.

Beauty From Vegetable And Fruits

Highly effective face packs and lotions can be prepared from fruits and vegetables which will give your skin a soft, lovely radiance.

* Astringent lotion - Blanch a small peach, remove its stone and grind and squeeze out its juice. Add to it one­fourth teaspoon each of lime and tomato juice. Mix well and spread on your face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes.

* Cucumber tonic - Grate and squeeze out juice from a small cucumber and mix in one-fourth teaspoon each of lime juice and rose water. Apply on face and leave on for 15 minutes. This tonic improves a dull and greasy complexion.

* Cleansing lotion - To one-fourth teaspoon of lime juice stir in one teaspoon each of milk and cucumber juice. Apply on the face and neck and wash off after 14 minutes. This lotion cleanses and purifies the pores of the skin.

* Cabbage mask - Grind a couple of cabbage leaves and extract juice. Dissolve one-fourth teaspoon of yeast in it and stir in one teaspoon of honey. Mix well and apply thickly over face and neck. Remove with cotton-wool soaked in water 15 minutes after application. This mask will Counteract any tendency towards wrinkles and dry­ ness and give your skin a flower-like bloom.

* Orange tonic - Blanch and grind a couple of almonds to a paste and mix in two tablespoons of milk and one tablespoon each of carrot and orange juice. Apply thickly on face and neck and leave on for half an hour. Removes scars and blemishes from the face and makes it soft and smooth.

* Tomato lotion - To one tablespoon of tomato juice add a couple of drops of lime juice. Apply on face and remove after 15 minutes. It is very effective for shrinking enlarged pores.

* Watermelon lotion - Grate and squeeze out juice from a small piece of watermelon. Apply on face and neck and leave on for 15 minutes. This lotion freshens up the skin.

* Whitening lotion - To one tablespoon of cucumber juice stir in a few drops of lime juice and a dash of turmeric powder. Apply on face and neck and wash off after half an hour. Makes an excellent whitener for all types of skins.

* Potato tonic - Grind and squeeze juice of potatoes. Apply on face and neck and leave on whole night. Next morning, wash with water to which a little witch hazel has been added. This tonic whitens and brightens the skin.

* Carrot lotion - To one-fourth teaspoon of carrot juice add one teaspoon of melted honey. Remove with cotton wool soaked in water to which a little soda bicarbonate has been added after 15 minutes. It removes roughness from the skin and makes it smooth as silk.

* Tomato tonic - To two teaspoons of tomato juice add four tablespoons of buttermilk. Remove after half an hour. It is excellent for removing sunburns.

* Cucumber lotion - One tablespoon each of cucumber juice and milk and a few drops of rose water should be mixed together and applied on the face and neck and removed after 15 minutes. Makes excellent whitener for delicate skins.

* Grape lotion - One tablespoon grape juice should be applied on the face and neck and left on for 15 minutes. Makes the skin soft and smooth, bright and fair.

* Papaya cream - Apply one tablespoon finely ground raw papaya to the face and leave on for 15 minutes. Removes pimples and other embarrassing blemishes.

* Apple tonic - Mix one tablespoon of apple juice with one-fourth teaspoon of lime juice. Leave on for 20 minutes. Makes excellent tonic for combating greasiness.

* Coconut lotion - Water of coconut, if rubbed on the skin and left on for 15 minutes, lightens and brightens the skin.

Introduction to the Skin care

With lots of factor, the skin changes and such changes in skin are both; intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic changes can be defined as the changes appearing with ageing of body. Extrinsic changes, on the other hand, are due to external factors such as sun, smoking, gravity and improper skin care. We can’t stop any intrinsic changes since that is programmed in the body, but one can surely change the overall habits and hence, can lessen the changes because of extrinsic factors.
Why take skin care?

Let us look at the changes in skin because of the most common factor – the ageing. As it is well known that the skin has three layers namely; epidermis (outer layer), dermis (middle layer) and subcutaneous layer that is underneath the dermis. As one grows, the epidermis or the outermost layer starts beginning to become thinner. The melanocytes (kind of pigments that contain cells) decrease. Though melanocytes diminish in number they increase in sizes. This gives a kind of pale complexion to the skin. Ageing changes because of the sunrays such as liver spots or lentigo appearance. They are also known as aging spots. The blood vessels in the dermis start to lose strengths and easily turn to bruising and bleeding underneath the skin. The subcutaneous layer supporting with fat padding to skin also becomes thinner. This would again increase the risk of getting skin injuries. Both sweating gland and sebaceous gland becomes less active.

Because of aging, meeting day-by-day pollution and other irritants, the skin loses its suppleness, textures and strengths. With aging spots and other pigmentations, the look is lost and skin becomes dull. With weakening of strengths, it becomes easy for skin to get damaged easily. Healing will become very slow and amazingly, the healing is four times as slow in advanced age than to youthful years. Skin will turn dry and the senses of touch heat etc. reduce considerably. Other growths like skin tags, warts, mar the appearance foster.

Skin care tips

A facial mask of egg white and honey helps removing the tan from the face.

Mixing oats with honey, yoghurt and ground almonds is very good. One can apply this on the face, leave it for about 10 min and then wash with lukewarm water.

Cucumber is very natural cleanser. For this, one can take cucumber juice with milk and use this in place of a cleanser.

Take 1/3 -cup cocoa, 3 tsp of some moisturizing cream, 1/3 - cup ripe papaya, ¼ - cup of honey and 3 tsp of oatmeal powder. Blend them all together and then apply this mixture onto the face. After 15 min, washing the face with lukewarm water becomes beneficial especially for the oily skin.

For the oily skin one can also go for application of a mixture of grapes, lemon and eggs’ whites. Leave this for about 15 min and rinse with lukewarm water. While lemon will act as a natural cleanser, grapes penetrate deep into the skin and soften it. Egg white tightens it.

One can simply cut the lemon and rub that all across the face. Leave it for about 15 min, and then wash it off with cold water. This refreshes the face. However, one should avoid this if having the dry skin.

Mix honey, lemons and vegetables’ oil .This mixture is a favorable moisturiser for drier skin. Apply this mask for 15 min.

One of the best remedies for skin care is to apply the mixture of honey and milk all over the face since it makes the skin glow.

One can prepare a mask. For this, mix a slice of pumpkin with egg yolks and milk. Let the mask stay on the face for about half an hour for a glowing skin.

Mix ½ cup of honey to the bathwater for softer and smoother skin.

To get soothing body pack, prepare a paste out of mint leaf and fresh almonds. Mix it with lukewarm water and apply on the body. Leave it till it gets dried and rinse with lukewarm water.

Buttermilk dabbing onto the skin for 20 min soaks up oil from the skin without making it dry.

Carrot juice can also be applied to get rid of daily fades and/or blemishes.

If one has dark underarms and neck, applying lemon juice blended with cucumber juice and a little bit of turmeric daily is beneficial. Leave this there for about half an hour before rinsing.

If one wants to remove facial hair, application of a sticky paste of egg white mixed up with sugar and corn flour gives favorable results.
